Update your pet's registration details

Keeping your pet’s registration details up to date will help us quickly reunite you with your pet if they get lost. You can update your pet registration details online at any time.

If you update your pet’s registration details because they are deceased, desexed, or you qualify for a pension concession, you may be eligible for a partial or full refund of payments made for the current registration period. Find out more about requesting a refund.

If you have recently moved or need to update the contact details for yourself and your pet, complete this request:

I no longer have a pet

If your pet has passed away, or you have rehomed your pet, advising Council of this change will ensure that you do not receive any future renewal or reminder notices for this animal.

My pet is now desexed

If your pet has been desexed since the initial registration you may be eligible for a reduced renewal fee.

A copy of your pet’s desexing certificate or a letter from a vet confirming your pet is desexed MUST be uploaded in the ‘Attachments’ section when you lodge your request below.

Update my pet's microchip details

It is mandatory to have your cat or dog microchipped. Advise Council of a new or updated microchip number.

Apply pension concession to my pet registration

Registration concessions apply to cat and dog owners who are in receipt of an eligible pension card.

As a pensioner, you must hold one of the following cards:

  • blue Pensioner Concession Card issued by Centrelink
  • blue Pensioner Concession Card issued by Veterans' Affairs
  • Repatriation Health Card - for all conditions/TPI - (Gold card) issued by Veterans' Affairs.

A copy of your pension card MUST be uploaded in the ‘Attachments’ section when you lodge your request below. 

Note: A pension concession will also be available for the 2024/25 cat and dog registration renewal period for non desexed animals.

Update my pet's breed, colour or age

If your renewal notice has any incorrect details for your pet such as breed, colour or age, you can update Council's record.
