Council is seeking expressions of interest for stallholders to take part in our inaugural Bat Night event. Local businesses, community organisations, food vendors, and other stallholders may apply. The event will showcase flying foxes and microbats with a touch of Halloween flair.

Important information for stallholders

  • There are no fees to have a stall at this event.
  • Hours of operation for stallholders are 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
  • The event is being held at Sweeney’s Reserve, Petrie, in areas where wildlife frequent. We recommend the use of a marquee and floor covering.
  • All stallholders must provide their equipment including a marquee, table, point of sale system and floor covering such as a tarp.
  • The use of weights can assist in securing all equipment as the use of pegs is not permitted.
  • Sites are positioned on grass with no access to power. You may be permitted to bring a silent generator, pending approval of your application.
  • All vendor equipment must be removed from the site after the event.
  • The use, sale and distribution of balloons is not permitted.
  • The supply of single-use plastic is banned in QLD. This includes plastic straws, stirrers, plates, bowls, cutlery, expanded polystyrene takeaway food containers and cups.
  • Food vendors must use compostable and eco-friendly cutlery and servingware. Single-use packaging and utensils such as plates, cups and cutlery have a big impact on the resources and the environment.
  • Council encourages food vendors to have utensils available to customers as an option rather than giving them out as default. Serve condiments from one large bottle rather than packaged individual serves. Limit the use of plastic, including using paper bags instead of plastic, and only using packaging if necessary.
