World Wombat Day welfare webinar

22 Oct 2024 | 01:00 PM - 02:00 PM

Bare-nosed wombat walking on grass

Join us for a webinar on wombat welfare this World Wombat Day. Learn how expert Eliza Stott is trying to ease the struggles of the bare-nosed beauties.

Eliza is a wildlife biologist, working on her PhD in wildlife veterinary science. She also founded the not-for-profit Women in Wildlife, with the primary goal to connect and amplify women and non-binary persons working within the wildlife industry.

Our webinar will focus on Eliza’s PhD research, inspired by her long-term passion for these cube poopers.

She is investigating the treatment of sarcoptic mange in bare-nosed wombats. A mite causes this disease, which leads to animal welfare and conservation issues for these marsupials.

If you are itching to ask Eliza something about wombats, there will be a question session at the end of the webinar.

This is a great opportunity for home school and high school students alike. Learn about issues directly impacting this species and start a bigger conversation on wildlife conservation.
