Galleries and Museums will be closed on Tuesday 24 December, Wednesday 25 December, and Thursday 26 December, 2024.
2 Jan 2025 - 30 Jan 2025
During the January holidays, the neon lights are turned on, the air conditioning is pumping, and Cinema Paradiso is open for everyone to have a fun time. Under the creative vision of Phoebe Paradise, The Hub Gallery at Caboolture is transformed into a bright and creative space for everyone to drop by to enjoy film history and the cinema. Showing at Cinema Paradiso: • A changing display of movie posters created by local young film lovers and Phoebe Paradise. • Create your own movie poster activity stations, inspired by the bold abstract designs of Saul Bass.
Phoebe Paradise is a multi-disciplinary artist, musician and designer based in Brisbane, Australia, specialising in illustration, murals and public art installations.
Phoebe’s practice explores the everyday poetics and visual identity of her hometown through surreal architectural renderings and suburban tableaus that border on speculative science fiction.
Oftentimes camp and dripping with nostalgia, Phoebe’s body of work is hyper-niche, yet elicits a universal sense of belonging that has captured the imagination of her broad audience. Her artwork is part of upcoming exhibition Maximum Madness: Art inspired by Mad Max.
