Art Social is a monthly program designed to create a warm and welcoming environment for creativity.

Sit down with a warm drink and enjoy the process of making with assistance from the gallery team to support your artistic experimentation.

Each month, these relaxed sessions will explore a different medium, process, or method of artmaking, with links to current exhibitions.

Cost $15. Bookings required.

No prior experience is required. All materials are provided unless otherwise stated.

Pine Rivers Art Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

February 22: Cyanotype printmaking

Over 2 hours, you'll learn how to prepare paper for cyanotype exposure, compose a design, while enjoying a relaxed, creative environment.

A selection of organic foliage and inorganic objects will be provided to get the inspiration flowing.

Note that gloves will be provided as the cyanotype chemicals can stain. Wear clothes you don't mind getting messy—just in case!

March 29: Landscape embroidery

Inspired by a bird’s eye view of Turrbal Country, create a beautiful embroidery hoop in this beginner’s embroidery workshop.

Be guided by a member of the gallery team and learn the difference between a straight stitch and a chain stitch!

April 26: Symbolic stamp-making

Design your own set of symbols that represent something meaningful for you and turn them into stunning stamps.

In this workshop you will be guided through different stamp-making options utilising craft and household materials to achieve quality results.

Experiment with colours and shapes to create different effects and patterns on paper and fabric surfaces.

Create your own artworks and come together to complete collaborative patchwork-like posters to share and keep.

May 31: Cups of creativity

Using air-dry clay, learn basic hand building and coiling techniques to create a unique clay trophy.

Your trophy will be an ode to your creativity; in whatever form that takes!

In this session, you’ll learn to score, slip and coil, culminating in a trophy approximately 15 centimetres tall.
