Outdoor sketching workshop
10 May 2025 | 10:00 AM
- 12:00 PM
Join us for a morning of outdoor sketching inspired by Joe Furlonger: Horizons.
Moreton Bay resident Joe Furlonger is one of Australia's most respected landscape painters.
His gestural method invokes the vibrance of Kabi Kabi and Quandamooka Country. Roadside sketching sessions flanked by cows are often where Furlonger's work takes shape.
Immerse yourself in the local environment for a morning of guided sketching and natural observation.
We’ll start with some exercises that loosen our sketching, encouraging intuitive mark making and gestural impressions. This will be followed by some longer sketches to capture the mix of urban and natural landscape of Redcliffe’s iconic waterfront.
We will meet at the gallery at 10:00 AM before heading out as a group.
