Wax resist waterways kids workshop

9 Jan 2025 | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

A watercolour of some water next to the paint and brushes

Make a splash these summer holidays using wax resist and watercolour to illustrate the beautiful waterways of Moreton Bay.

Inspired by tides, mangroves and the tree-lined silhouettes of Kabi Kabi Country, participants will create waterscapes that drip and swell with colour and raise awareness for the environmental importance of precious water sources.

Are waterways just a place to relax and go swimming? What would life look like without natural water sources? In what ways do we care for or harm them? Do we think about waterways outside of periods of drought and flood?

Workshop participants will leave with a renewed appreciation for local waterways and an awareness of our shared responsibility to care for them.
