Bianca Dilworth, 16 year old scooter champion.

She’s just 16, already the number one female scooter champion in Australia and there are no signs Bianca Dilworth will be slowing down any time soon.

Acting Mayor Mike Charlton said her tremendous sporting achievements were an inspiration to local youth.

“Bianca has already accomplished goals well beyond her years and is absolutely deserving of this year’s Australia Day Youth Sports Award for 2020,” said Cr Charlton.

“Last year Bianca represented Australia at the World Roller Games in Barcelona, where women were able to compete for the first time and she brought home a bronze medal on the international stage.

“On behalf of Council I’m proud to recognise Bianca’s success to date and celebrate the start of a career that’s sure to excite.”

Tracing her scooter roots back to Redcliffe, Bianca insists the sport has always just been a fun hobby.

“About six years ago I picked up a scooter, and this [Redcliffe] is where it all began,” said Bianca

“It was such an amazing experience competing at the World Roller Games, I managed to get third place in the world, so it’s a dream come true for me.

“Just one message I’d like to give anyone out there: just follow your dreams, and most importantly have fun.”

Division 4 Councillor Julie Greer said Bianca was a positive role model of young people in Moreton Bay.

“It’s an honour to pay tribute to the special people in our community like Bianca, it’s fantastic we have opportunities like this to recognise and celebrate their achievements,” said Cr Greer.
