On the back of a record turn-out at City of Moreton Bay’s Lunar New Year celebrations on 17 February, Council continues to delight and surprise with a diverse range of community events throughout the year and across the City.
Mayor Peter Flannery said Council was helping to alleviate the cost of living by providing families with free events nearly every week of the year.
“There’s one thing that’s universally loved by our residents and that’s our amazing Community Events Calendar, which is why we’re prioritising it even more,” he said.
“We know times are tough and it isn’t getting any easier to entertain the family, so we’ve made sure there’s plenty to do throughout the rest of the year too from signature events such Lunar New Year, the Hills Carnivale, Moreton Kids Festival, PrideFest and many more.
“Plus, all your favourite community events are back as well including Movie in the Park, Music in the Park, Splash & Play, Pooches in the Park, Jazz & Shiraz, and Teddy Bears Picnic.
“Our Community Events Calendar is a key part of what makes it so great to live in City of Moreton Bay.
“I encourage people to keep checking in to see when new events are released on our webpage.
“We hope this takes a little bit of pressure off the family budget, while delivering some genuinely amazing and vibrant experiences that bring the community together.”
These events are run alongside Council’s own destination events such as Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival, KiteFest, Jetty to Jetty and Tastes of Moreton Bay. The renowned Woodford Folk Festival is also an important event, supported by Council.
