Artists from across City of Moreton Bay are invited to showcase their talent and creativity, with applications now open for the 2025 Moreton Bay Art Prize and Outdoor Art Prize.

Mayor Peter Flannery said these prestigious prizes provide an exciting platform to highlight local talent and enrich the cultural fabric of our community.

"Art has the power to connect, inspire and enrich people’s lives while making us reflect on who we are.

“The Moreton Bay Art Prize is not just an art competition; it’s a celebration of creativity, talent, diversity, and the spirit of our community.

“It’s also an opportunity to bring people together to shine a light on our local artists and their unique masterpieces and gain the recognition they deserve.

“The Outdoor Art Prize in particular is a brilliant way to bring art into everyday life, enabling residents and visitors to experience creativity in unexpected places across the city.

“I encourage everyone eligible to take part in this amazing opportunity,” Mayor Flannery said.

Selected works will be exhibited at the Pine Rivers Art Gallery from 24 May to 19 July 2025, with a prize pool totalling $10,000, including:

  • $5,000 for First Place
  • $3,000 for Second Place
  • $1,500 for Third Place
  • $500 for the People’s Choice Award

There are no restrictions on themes or categories, allowing artists to freely express their creativity with original artwork created within the last two years.

The Outdoor Art Prize offers six artists a unique opportunity to display their work in high-traffic outdoor locations across City of Moreton Bay. Selected artworks will be printed on vinyl banners and exhibited from 19 May to 16 June 2025, bringing art into the public realm and making it accessible to thousands of people daily.
