There's Never Been a Better Time to Holiday in Moreton Bay

Businesses across Moreton Bay are rolling out the red carpet to welcome people looking to holiday closer to home, while enjoying the vibrant lifestyle this area has to offer.
If you’re a lucky winner in the Queensland Government’s second chance draw for Brisbane Holiday Dollars, Mayor Peter Flannery said you’ll get the best bang for your buck in Moreton Bay Region.
“This is the perfect excuse to holiday at home and discover the beauty of your own backyard and even if you don’t have a holiday voucher, you won’t find a friendlier welcome anywhere else in South East Queensland,” he said.
“Especially if you live in Brisbane, why not escape the city to reignite childhood memories in Redcliffe, take the family on an adventure through our breathtaking hinterland, discover the pristine beaches of Bribie or book a farm stay that’s just minutes from home?
“A holiday here couldn’t be easier and you’re not going to receive warmer hospitality than here in Moreton Bay Region, not to mention our incredible cuisine and seafood.
“We’re also closer to where you live, which means you won’t get stuck in the notorious Sunny Coast or Gold Coast traffic and instead get to spend more time enjoying your holiday.”
Operators across the Moreton Bay Region participating in the campaign are ready to showcase the beauty and hospitality of the region.
Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism Chairman Shane Newcombe welcomed the State Government’s second chance round of Brisbane Holiday Dollars.
“It’s no secret that the tourism sector has been one of the hardest hit during COVID-19. We are hearing a lot of fatigue and frustration, particularly off the back of the most recent lockdowns interstate and here, that again affected school holiday trade,” Mr Newcombe says.
“I encourage locals, who have been lucky enough to receive a voucher, to support their community and spend their money in the Moreton Bay Region”.
Mr Newcombe commends the State Government on the Brisbane Holiday Dollars initiative but is calling for further support for the industry.
“This is a great initiative, but it only goes so far. We need a comprehensive package for the tourism industry that addresses the significant issues being faced,” he says.
With a patchwork of different communities, from seaside villages and the Bay to hinterland hamlets, vibrant urban centres and rural landscapes, it’s the perfect place to explore.
Winners of the Brisbane Holiday Dollars voucher draw have until August 15 to book and travel. Find a list of participating operators from across the Moreton Bay Region online.
