Honouring the Anzac spirit across Moreton Bay

Anzac Day - Poppy

The Anzac spirit is deeply ingrained in City of Moreton Bay, thanks to the local RSL sub-branches and community groups hosting services this Friday, 25 April, to commemorate our service men and women.

Council has committed more than $160,000 through Community Grants over three years to assist with the costs of running Anzac Day services across the City.

Mayor Peter Flannery said the partnership with RSL sub-branches and local groups ensures these significant services and marches continue to unite the community in remembrance of those who’ve served.

“Anzac Day is an important opportunity for us to come together and reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of our service men and women,” he said.

“As a former service person, I’m incredibly proud to see our local community groups supported to deliver these special commemorations.

“The Anzac spirit lives on in the faces of the young and old who gather each year to pay their respects and honour our country’s history at these services.”
