The final section of the highly anticipated Mango Hill Ring Road Connection is nearing completion.

Mayor Peter Flannery said the $6.8 million Council-funded project is an important City connection and local road upgrade that will ease traffic congestion.

“It will allow traffic flow between Mango Hill Village, on the North Lakes side of Anzac Avenue and the two Mango Hill train stations, so is critical to traffic flow and transport access in the area.

“Once completed, the Lamington Road connection to the intersection of Anzac Avenue and Capestone Boulevard will herald the final section of Mango Hill Ring Road and provide a long-awaited second entrance to the Mango Hill Village.

“This important project will ensure local traffic flow does not become an issue and future proof the fast-growing North Lakes community.”

City of Moreton Bay Deputy Mayor and local Councillor (Div 4) Jodie Shipway said the extension also included new pathways, on-road cycle lanes and pedestrian crossing facilities to promote active transport provisions in the surrounding network without the need to use the State arterial road network.

“This will improve safety, which is a commitment I’ve made to residents who have expressed concerns about this area of road.

“I thank the community for their patience with this project that has involved complex but necessary service relocations by multiple authorities including a large water main.

“This hasn’t been easy, but our team has persevered, and the outcome will make a massive difference for locals.”

Council’s construction team are expected to be back onsite in October 2024 weather permitting to complete the project.

The Mango Hill Ring Road Connection will link areas on both sides of Anzac Ave and the two Mango Hill Train Stations and navigates along Memorial Drive, Halpine Drive, Mango Hill Boulevard, Capestone Boulevard and Lamington Road.
