Mini Explorers come out to play in Moreton Bay

Pack your sunscreen and binoculars and get ready for a day of nature discovery at the free Enviro Explorers event.
Mayor Peter Flannery said Caboolture Region Environmental Education Centre (CREEC) will come alive with creepy crawly fun from 10am to 2pm on Saturday 5 June 2021.
“Mum and dad, your kids will be spoiled for choice if you bring them along to the CREEC Enviro Explorers event this Saturday, with a huge selection of free activities on offer,” Mayor Flannery said.
“They can tackle the all abilities playground, featuring a wheelchair accessible play area, sensory walls, flying foxes and slides, or get your hands dirty with a seedling planting workshop.
“Parents can put their feet up and enjoy the delicious food vendors, market stalls and information stalls – all you need to do is bring a picnic blanket.
“Council is committed to putting on events that bring the community together provide a fun free day out for mums, dads and their kids.”
An engaging line up of performers will take to the stage during the event, including Geckoes Wildlife, Larrikin Puppets and Reptile Kingdom Australia.
Division 12 Councillor Tony Latter said he was looking forward to seeing the community come together to learn about the natural environment.
“There’s no better way to celebrate World Environment Day than to get down to CREEC to learn about the world around us,” Cr Latter said.
“I know my boys would love to come down and discover the native wildlife on offers – there’s snakes, lizards and other critters, with live shows and interactive displays.
“They can take their pick from an array of enviro-themed workshops and the more adventurous explorers may want to tackle the rock-climbing wall.
This event will implement COVID Safe practices. If you are feeling unwell, please stay at home and follow health advice.
