Quality Plastic Products new state of the art facility in Narangba

Australia’s second largest supplier of advanced plant nursery products is expanding in the Moreton Bay region.

Quality Plastic Products (QPP) recently opened its new 4000sqm premises in Narangba, supplying advanced plant containers and speciality pots to more than 500 nurseries across Australia, as well as internationally.

QPP focus on supplying products made from recycled plastic but also can supply products made from either biodegradable or certified reclaimed ocean plastic and is working with customers to further develop closing-the-loop systems. 

General Manager Patrick O’Driscoll said the company planned to recruit another 12 full-time staff, as well as increase its 13 injection moulding machines to 25 over the next two years.

“The excellent support provided by Council, resulted in the decision to invest in Narangba,” he said.

“I look forward to building the relationship with the Council team and linking in with other businesses in the region.”

The expansion has already added more than $28 million to the local economy and created 99 jobs during the construction phase in the past year.

Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said part of Council’s long-term vision to ‘go green as we grow’ was about attracting sustainable, green businesses to create long-term benefits for the region.

“QPP’s operations means more plastics recycled, more skilled jobs, more local supply and a boost to our economy,” he said.

“It will also contribute $9 million per year to economic activity and support 28 full time jobs.

“Advanced manufacturing is our largest export industry, worth more than $3.3 billion and employs almost 10,000 people. We’re here to support these businesses on their journey and help in their growth and transition.”

Advanced manufacturing is one of the four priority industries in the Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS) 2020-2041 which will help build a $40 billion economy and generate 100,000 jobs by 2041.
