Get the popcorn and picnic blankets ready for Moreton Bay’s own outdoor cinema experience by the sea.
Brennan Park in Bongaree will come alive on Saturday 20 November when Moreton Bay Regional Council hosts a special starlight screening of Elf (2003).
Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Peter Flannery said the event will be a great night out for the whole family.
“From 4 pm there will be plenty of pre-movie entertainment including an art & craft workshop, giant outdoor games and hands-on environment educational activities delivered by Ocean Life Education,” he said.
“There will also be live music from local artists including Moreton Bay’s very own Kiani Jazz Music.
“Throughout the afternoon there will be movie snacks on offer with chocolate, fairy floss, and popcorn available for purchase before the movie starts at 7pm.
“The Bribie Island Museum will also host a pop-up stand on the day, giving people a taster of the exhibitions they have on display.
“Just bring along your own chair, blanket or picnic rug and enjoy the film.”
Division 1 Councillor Brooke Savige said this is a great opportunity to spend a night under the stars enjoying a classic Christmas movie Elf (2003).
“What’s great about this is that the movie was voted as a favourite by our community through Council’s Facebook Page,” she said.
“This family-friendly movie was a hit at the box office and can now be seen for free on our iconic waterfront.
“Elf is truly a magical Christmas tale that’s fun for the whole family.
“Not to mention, you can browse the markets and pick up some handmade goodies for Christmas presents and support our local businesses.
“There will also be beanbags, deck chairs and plenty of delicious food options available for purchase from our great surrounding cafes and restaurants.
“What better way to enjoy our beautiful region than to enjoy some live music, indulge in delicious treats and settle into an outdoor movie.”
Bribie Island Movie and Night Markets is a free event presented by Moreton Bay Regional Council.
This event will implement COVID Safe practices.
