Art At Large: Play footpaths expression of interest

Two ladies walking along the footpath, there is artwork on the ground, circles within circles and two arms extending outwards from it in a checkered pattern.

Council is commissioning 6 artists to create vinyl public artworks for 6 separate sections of concrete footpath near popular playgrounds and play areas in Moreton Bay parks. Each footpath section measures approximately 15 metres long and 2 metres wide.

The vinyl artworks will cover approximately 40% of the allocated footpath. It will not cover the footpath edge to edge.

This public art opportunity is open to artists who reside in City of Moreton Bay. Artists who live outside City of Moreton Bay but have a connection to the Kabi Kabi, Turrbal or Jinibara Traditional Owner groups can also apply.

Each artist will be paid a concept design fee of $1000. Council will pay for the print-ready files, printing, installation and removal of the vinyl footpath art.

The vinyl artworks will:

  • enhance the amenity of the play areas from summer 2024 to June 2025
  • profile the creativity of professional artists who live in City of Moreton Bay.
