Artwork on playground footpaths
Six artists have created vinyl public artworks for six separate sections of concrete footpath near popular playgrounds and play areas in Moreton Bay parks. These artworks, commissioned by the city as part of the Art at Large program, brighten up the places where we live, work, and enjoy.
The artists have responded to the following themes:
- Broad interpretations of the word ‘play’ - conceptually, visually, and physically.
- Interactive and movement-based experiences in public areas - how might an artwork change the way people use this site?
- Built environments near the areas of play, for example, architecture, shapes, colours, and structural materials.
The artworks are displayed at:
- Leslie Patrick Park, Arana Hills
- Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine
- Blatchford Reserve, Kallangur
- Clayton Park, Beachmere.
Each artwork spans 15 metres of concrete footpath.
