It aims to help local food businesses not only survive but thrive! 

As a key part of our $1 million Business Boost initiative, the program is one way we’re investing in the future of local food businesses.

Key features of the program

The program is open to food business owners that operate a: 

  • restaurant (including takeaway shops and food trucks)
  • licensed venue
  • cafe or coffee shop (including mobile coffee vans).

Providing mentorships are well-known industry experts from Crunch Hospo and The Coffee Commune. They will provide the guidance needed to navigate your industry's standards. 

Program participants will receive:

  • 5 tailored workshops on business essentials, delivered by leading industry experts. 
  • 6 months of coaching and mentorship to guide you through implementing changes. 
  • proven strategies to reduce costs and improve your profit margins.
  • tools and templates to remove the guesswork of running your business. 
  • peer-to-peer support collaborating with like-minded business owners.
  • invitations to exclusive networking events to foster connections and growth.
  • skills to improve time management, achieve sustainable growth and strengthen customer engagement.

You'll leave the program with the confidence to overcome challenges. Helping you increase profits and improve team performance to build a thriving business.

Council has partnered with two reputable suppliers known for their food business expertise. They will deliver programs tailored to your business. 

Take the first step towards building a thriving and profitable business by signing up for one of the programs.

Restaurants and licensed venues

Crunch Hospo is a sister brand to Fine Food Australia, and they share over 40 years of industry knowledge for the program. Learn how to fine-tune your restaurant's operations and elevate the customer's experience.

Diversified Communications is delivering this restaurant and licensed venue-specific program. You will also hear from hospitality training expert, James Connell from The Hospitality Company. They will provide you with tailored food business information and more.

Access this program, which is valued at $5,000, for just $95. On completion of the program the $95 registration fee will be reimbursed with a Moreton Money card to use at local suppliers.

Is this program for you?

Restaurant and licensed venues include those with BYO licenses and restaurants who usually cater to evening diners, and may offer lunch services. It also includes food trucks, pizzerias, breweries serving food, takeaway venues, bakeries, and catering services.

Coffee shops and cafes

Are you ready to take your cafe to the next level? The Coffee Commune will provide a training program that delivers results for your cafe! 

Led by renowned industry expert Phillip Di Bella, this program helps cafes optimise operations. You will also create a business model for long-term success.

The Coffee Commune supports the coffee industry with a focus on cafes and roasters. They foster a community that helps cafes grow through connections, discounts, HR advice and resources. They also advocate for the needs of the food industry to all levels of government.

Workshops commence Tuesday, 1 April 2025.

Valued at $2000, for a limited time this program is available for $95. You will receive the $95 back in supplier credit on completion of the program.

Is this program for you?

Coffee shops and cafes typically operate until around 2:00 PM focusing on coffee, and can include coffee trucks, trailers, and vans.

  • Some venues may suit either sector, especially venues that open for breakfast, lunch and dinner service.
  • Some venues maybe looking to diversify their current model and grow into a venue offering more and you are not sure which program is best suited.
