Techstars Startup Weekend

Techstars Startup Weekend is hosted at the UniSC Moreton Bay campus. Budding Entrepreneurs with big ideas work together to turn their start-up ideas into reality. Founding and building a new business by working with mentors, investors, and sponsors.

Participants learn how to turn a business concept into a viable business model. They also learn how to validate the idea with customers and present the business to a panel of judges.

Over a three-day weekend, participants receive invaluable guidance from our team of mentors and participate in a series of masterclasses. Sharing in a prize pool worth over $25,000.

In previous events, participants completed an expression of interest process. Shortlisted candidates were given the opportunity to participate in Techstars Startup Weekend in Moreton Bay.

Techstars Startup Weekend in Moreton Bay 2023

From 26 May to 28 May 2023 Moreton Bay Regional Council, in collaboration with Innovate Moreton Bay, hosted the second Techstars Startup Weekend.

Six local startups delivered their pitch to an audience of mentors, industry leaders and fellow participants. They were given an invaluable opportunity to affirm their ideas, create a business model and refine their presentation skills.

Friend in my Pocket took away first prize, while Reece from Wediate and Vivianna from Intrepid US won the Spirit of the Weekend award.

Techstars Startup Weekend in Moreton Bay 2022

Five teams of two to four individuals worked together with mentors, investors, and sponsors, learning how to develop their business idea into a sustainable business model, validate the idea to customers and pitch the business to the panel of judges.
