Regional Economic Development Strategy 2020-2041

Regional Economic Development Strategy

The Regional Economic Development Strategy 2020-2041 (REDS) provides the blueprint for Council, industry and the business community to collaboratively build a $40 billion economy by attracting and generating 100,000 new jobs for our City by 2041.

The REDS provides long-term economic direction for the City and drives innovation and entrepreneurship to position Moreton Bay as one of Australia’s top 10 regional innovation hubs by 2041.

The success of the REDS depends on collaboration and support from all stakeholders and the Council's Economic Development team serves as the catalyst in maintaining this engagement.

2023-24 REDS Action Plan

To keep the momentum going towards a $40 billion economy with 16,000 new businesses and 100,000 new jobs by 2041, work has already started on implementing a new REDS Action Plan for 2023-24. This new Action Plan, developed with the REDS (industry) Taskforce and our REDS Stakeholders, sets out 23 actions that City of Moreton Bay and REDS stakeholders will be focused on delivering over the next two years. As a result, we are striving to create opportunities for local businesses to innovate more, sell more, showcase more and grow more.
