North Lakes Skate Park upgrade

Concept image of North Lakes Skate Park upgrade

We are upgrading North Lakes Skate Park with a new facility to cater to skaters and riders of all ages and skill levels. Located at Aurora Boulevard Park, North Lakes the skate park is popular with locals and visitors alike.

The skate park upgrade will create more opportunities for healthy and active lifestyles. It will also encourage social interaction and connection in the local community.

The new skate park design reflects what we heard during the community consultation and includes:

  • an increase in size to cater for locals
  • an open-flow layout to give riders a variety of trick lines
  • beginner-friendly elements and more challenging obstacles to accommodate skill progression
  • great skate elements. These include a lower curved spine, a flatbank hip, a 3-5 foot or 0.9-1.5 metre quarter pipes, along with a quarter to kerb for grinding and sliding.

Learn more about the consultation findings by visiting Your Say Moreton Bay.

Construction on the skate park has started. Pending weather and unforeseen circumstances, the upgrade is due to be completed in mid-2025.

This upgrade is part of a strategic program of maintenance and renewal where The City is investing in 23 skate park facilities across our city.
