Woorim accessible beach - Amenities upgrade

Concept image of Woorim Accessible Beach Amenities

We are upgrading the amenities at Lions Park also known as Bluey Piva Park. The current facilities will be demolished and a modern, accessible beach amenities building will be built in its place.

Project features and benefits

The new amenities building will offer improved services, accessibility and inclusivity. This is a key step in enhancing public amenities for our community. It will make beach visits more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

Key features of the upgrade include:

  • a changing places facility designed for people with high support needs
  • storage for beach wheelchairs
  • showers and change rooms to accommodate all visitors.

The upgrade will meet Disability Discrimination Act standards and aims to improve accessibility. It will enable a seamless connection to the beach for people of all abilities.

The design will reflect the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Bribie Island. It will create a welcoming space for all. Sustainability will be a priority in the design to support long-term environmental responsibility.

Subject to weather and unforeseen circumstances, work will start in April 2025 after the Easter break.
