Cabbage Tree Creek active transport improvements

grass pathway showing wear

The existing pathways adjacent to Cabbage Tree Creek in Everton Hills are disjointed and inconsistent. This results in people using the pathways having to cross Collins Road in many locations to travel east to west and access the facilities in Alfredson Park and Sylvia Gibbs Park.

To ensure pedestrians and cyclists can travel safely and continuously along the southern side of Collins Road, Council is undertaking active transport improvements, including:

  • a wider shared pathway for pedestrians and cyclists
  • improved crossings of Cabbage Tree Creek
  • removal and replacement of damaged sections of the existing pathway
  • way-finding and fauna-friendly lighting
  • fauna fencing.
