Flooding is a natural process, and many people in the region will likely experience flooding of some kind in their lifetime. This is due to our network of rivers and creeks, subtropical climate, mountainous areas in the west, and low-lying coastal areas in the east.

It is important to understand our flood risk so that we can plan, adapt, and learn to live with flooding.
