Grant Road Sports and Community Complex is situated beside the Grant Road sports ground with pleasant views to multiple fields. The complex includes a hall and two (2) meeting rooms joined by a covered walkway. All rooms are available for hire separately or together. 

The venue is just a two minute drive from Morayfield Shopping Centre and within walking distance of public transport.

Meeting room

The tiled meeting room is 7.8 metres x 5.1 metres and is ideal for meetings, classes and activities that may be a little bit more messy than others. A shared kitchenette/breakout area compliments the space.

The venue is a self-service model: all hirers are responsible for set-up, pack-down and cleaning of the venue before the conclusion of hire. 

Capacity

This meeting room has a capacity of 30 people.

Accessibility

The Grant Road Sports and Community Complex has pathway access from the car park which has designated accessible parking bays.

An accessible toilet and shower and baby change station is located in the venues amenities block which is available to all rooms.

Please inspect the venue prior to booking to ensure the facility meets your accessibility requirements.

Bookings

Grant Road Sports & Community Complex Inc. manage the Grant Road Sports and Community Complex on behalf of Council. The venue is available for hire between 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight).

Regular hire is available at this facility. A regular hirer is an individual or organisation that has bookings on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis.

Please note the following:

  • booking requests are required at least five days prior to the requested hire date.
  • a minimum of one hour hire applies to all bookings.
  • council may charge a refundable security bond to cover potential damage to the facility during hire.

How to book

  1. Check availability and complete the online booking request
  2. Review site induction program and complete registration. Note the reference number provided. You will need this number to complete your application.

All hirers are required to complete an online venue induction prior to their booking. Inductions are current for 12 months.

Restrictions

  • Hirers are not permitted to sleep in the venue overnight, however, equipment may be left in the venue if the hirer has a booking for the following day by arrangement with Hall Management
  • Smoking is prohibited in, and within 5 metres of Council venues, except for designated smoking areas 
  • The use of open flames including but not limited to candles, lanterns or smoke machines is prohibited
  • Decorative items such as glitter, rice, sand or confetti is not permitted
  • Decorations must not be affixed in any way that may cause damage; this includes, but is not limited to sticky tape, pins or tacks
  • Animals, with the exception of assistance animals, are not permitted in council venues without prior approval.

Venue inspections

Hall Management may provide prospective hirers the opportunity to view the hall prior to booking. Inspections are by appointment only and depend upon the hall manager and venue availability.
