Cabbage Tree Creek Reserve
Nestled along Cabbage Tree Creek, this reserve in Everton Hills is a great spot for families, fitness lovers, and nature enthusiasts. It has plenty of shaded areas, perfect for picnics or a relaxing break.
The reserve is a birdwatcher's paradise. The creek is a vital waterway running through several northern Brisbane suburbs. It’s vital to the local ecosystem because it helps support native vegetation. This vegetation attracts a variety of bird species, including lorikeets, honeyeaters, and friarbirds.
As you wind along the 35-kilometre shared creek-side path, see if you can spot or hear the birds or even a koala. Cyclists and dog walkers often use the pathway which connects the reserve to popular nearby parks. This includes Sylvia Gibbs Park, where you will find extra facilities such as toilets and barbecues.
While dogs must remain on leash throughout the reserve, you can exercise your furry pooch off-leash at the local dog park at William Scott Park.
The reserve has areas for nature, fitness, and play, with native vegetation gardens, exercise equipment, and a playground.
The playground has climbing frames, a slide, and swings, including a toddler swing, on soft fall matting for safety. There’s sheltered seating where parents can relax and watch the kids while they play. Convenient parking is available close to the playground on Francis Road.
Whether you're walking your dog or spending time with family, there’s something for everyone at Cabbage Tree Creek Reserve.
