Freshwater Reserve in Kallangur is a large green space with something for everyone. Nature lovers, fitness enthusiasts, families, and even furry friends will find something to enjoy.

Dense native trees surround Freshwater Reserve, such as eucalyptus and paperbark. With Freshwater Creek winding through its heart, it offers a natural escape that feels a world away from the every day.

This tranquil setting is a haven for birds and attracts a variety of native species often reported by birdwatchers. See if you can spot a black-faced cuckoo-shrike, rainbow lorikeet, figbird, or kookaburra! The reserve’s rich bird life makes it a peaceful spot to slow down and connect with nature.

A highlight of the reserve is its dog off-leash area with a custom-built dog agility course. Dogs can enjoy challenges like the A-frame, camel hump, hurdles, jump rings, and dog log tunnel. It’s an ideal space for introducing your dog to basic agility. Whether your pup's a serious athlete or just needs to burn off some energy, it’s a fun environment where they can play and socialise. Your furry pooch is welcome to explore the rest of the park but must be kept on a leash. Dogs are not allowed within 10 metres of playgrounds.

The reserve is also a hub for sport and recreation. There’s a basketball half-court and netball hoops, complete with lighting, so games can go into the evening. A large, open football field is perfect for weekend matches against friends or casual kick-arounds.

Kids will love the adventure playground. It features swings, a fort-style climbing structure, spinners, and a slide. Parents and carers can relax on the nearby bench seating while the children play safely within view. There are also bubblers with dog bowls available throughout the park, so everyone can stay hydrated.

For cyclists and joggers, the reserve has concrete footpaths that wind through, perfect for a morning run or ride. The path is pram and wheelchair friendly, making it easy for everyone to explore.

While there are no public toilets within the reserve, amenities are at the nearby Lillybrook shopping centre, a short walk away.

Combined with shady areas, plenty of open space, and a tranquil atmosphere, the reserve offers a refreshing slice of nature and a welcoming vibe.
