Sandbags must not be placed into your general waste bin unless they are empty. The sand can be used as topsoil on lawns and gardens. Do not allow sand to wash into stormwater drains.

To assist in post Tropical Cyclone Alfred clean up, all Council waste facilities are open for extended periods, 7 days a week from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.Waste collection services have resumed as normal.

Bellmere's Wally Strong Park has something for everyone to enjoy. Its large open grassy spaces allow heaps of room to kick a football or soccer ball or relax and enjoy a picnic under the shady gumtrees.
The shade-covered playground features a slide, seesaw and swing set where the kids can get up to lots of fun. For the basketball enthusiasts, there is a half-court just waiting for some lay-ups.
Fitness equipment can be found throughout the park for those who like to get active outdoors.
Parking bays are located on Kendall Road, a short distance from the covered picnic shelter and electric barbecue.
