Commercial operators with clean fill more than 10 cubic metres must contact Council on (07) 3205 0555 or 1300 477 161 prior to disposal for approval.

Council does not accept contaminated soil at Council’s waste facilities except for asbestos mixed with soil or regulated waste.

Notes and conditions

  • All transporters must provide full address details from where the load of fill, soil, and sand (clean earth) is sourced (source location). 
  • Council does not accept acid sulfate soil or soil containing hazardous contaminants other than asbestos. Refer to Asbestos mixed with soil or regulated waste.
  • Council does not accept material from a property listed on the Contaminated land register and Environmental management register. These are public registers which contain information about contaminated land in Queensland.
  • Be fire ant aware when moving material that may carry fire ants to a waste facility. Refer to Fire ant biosecurity zones and Fire ants: Soil movement guideline and Fire ant carrier material. City of Moreton Bay waste facilities will not accept fire ant carrier materials from properties inside Fire Ant Biosecurity Zones 1 and 2 that are located outside of City of Moreton Bay local government area.
  • Commercial customers are to pre-arrange delivery with Council if transporting more than 10 cubic metres in a load or transporting more than 10 cubic metres from the same source location in multiple loads. Include transporter details and source location including address, lot and plan number or, for infrastructure projects, road reserve or watercourse location or with the location shown on a street map or plan.
  • Domestic disposal of clean earth without charge is limited as per the Disposal of waste free of charge policy. The current Fees and Charges schedule applies to quantities above the free disposal limits per financial year.
