Albany Creek Library displays work by the Kakowan Art Group in March.

The group meets regularly on Friday mornings at Kakowan Community Facility Bunya. A City of Moreton Bay council grant with GVK Lions acting as auspice has enabled the group to run throughout the year.

Its aim is to build community and social wellbeing, develop skills, techniques and confidence in making art

Members are welcome to further their own practice and also participate in facilitator-led workshops. These include Gelli printing, collage and collagraph printing.

The council grant is based on the project Mapping Moreton Bay which allows each artist to interpret this concept in their individual style.

New members are welcome and examples of the group's artwork can be found on their Facebook page - search Friday Art at Kakowan.

Free. No bookings required.
