I want to renew my items

For your convenience, your loans will now automatically renew before their due date. The following items cannot be automatically renewed:

  • items that have already been renewed once
  • interlibrary loans
  • long overdue items
  • items with reservations

Auto renewal allows you the convenience of enjoying your library items for longer without the need to renew them yourself. If you wish you may still manually renew your items, unless:

  • The item is reserved.
  • The item has been renewed before.
  • The item is more than 12 days overdue.
  • Your card has expired or is otherwise blocked.

The library will send you an email letting you know which items have not been renewed.

To manually renew your loans:

  1. Sign in and click the loans and renewals tile.
  2. Renew individual loans by ticking the box beside each item, click the options button at the top and then click renew selections.
  3. To renew all loans, click renew all.
  4. Note the new due date for each loan. If an item does not renew, please return it or contact us.

If you have family accounts linked to your account, go back to the dashboard and click the current loans tile under the family account dashboard to renew any loans for family members.

I want to place an inter-library loan or article request

Items not held in our collection may be available on request from libraries outside Moreton Bay. Loan periods, fees and renewal conditions vary. All requests are considered for purchase prior to progressing to interlibrary loan. You will be notified when your item is ready to be picked up. You may have up to 4 interlibrary loans active at any one time, and may submit up to 8 requests, either purchase or interlibrary loan, per month.

We are unable to obtain the following as Inter-library loans:

  • material held by Moreton Bay Region Libraries
  • material published within the past two years
  • reference resources
  • local history resources
  • music CDs
  • DVDs (exception: older non-fiction DVDs)
  • entire magazines (we can request articles)

Requests may be placed for copies of magazine and journal articles as well as chapters from reference and local history materials within copyright regulations.

To place an Inter-library loan request:

  1. From the catalogue homepage, select request an item from the My Library Menu on the side.
  2. If prompted, sign in using your library card number and PIN.

  4. Enter as much information as you can about the item you require. Article requests must include the title of the article, journal title and page numbers.
  5. Click Place Request
  6. Click Continue.

We will contact you within 7 days if the item is not purchased or an Interlibrary loan is unable to be progressed.

Interlibrary loan items may be renewed once only, at the discretion of the lending library, and must be returned by the due date.

If you wish to request a title you have borrowed on interlibrary loan again you may do so 8 weeks after returning the item.

Back to question  ⤴

Whilst we value suggestions, we do not purchase every item suggested, the Library service will consider items for purchase that:

  • are available for purchase from our Library suppliers
  • are suitable for a public library
