Commencement of Version 7 of the MBRC Planning Scheme (including Major Amendment No. 3 - the ‘Better Housing Amendment’)

Status update

A new version 7 of the MBRC Planning Scheme 2016 (the planning scheme), incorporating the adopted Major Amendment No. 3 - the ‘Better Housing Amendment,’ ‘Planning Scheme Policies Amendment No. 2’ and Minor Amendment No. 3 - ‘Voluntary Home Buy Back Program Zoning Updates,’ commenced on 30 October 2024.  

To assist in the preparation of well-made development applications under the new version 7 of the planning scheme, please refer to the updated Code Templates (MS Word versions).

Planning scheme document

The MBRC Planning Scheme was adopted by Council on 24 November 2015 and commenced on Monday 1 February 2016. More information about how to read and apply the planning scheme and how it works is provided in the How to read a planning scheme information sheet(PDF, 723KB).

The planning scheme is provided as an eScheme, intended to be used in electronic form, which allows you to navigate around the document using the menu on the left. The various parts of the planning scheme document are also available as PDF files.

The version of the Planning Scheme provided contains amendments made since its initial commencement on 1 February 2016. Amendments made to the Scheme since it was adopted are detailed under Planning Scheme Amendments.
